#IndyOfTheWeek is The In A Box Project's way of celebrating independent music. Every week we will be picking out an indy artist that we love. It may be because their music blows us away. It might just be because they're different. Either way, they will be worthy.
At the age of 22, BR3NZ is a versatile songwriter and vocalist based in East London. From afrobeat feels in Want You, to the intensity of latest track Scars, BR3NZ now displays an impressive variety of styles on his Spotify profile. Releasing his debut EP on valentines day of this year, entitled L.A.T.E Crush, BR3NZ's clever use of a theme to promote his music is to be admired. Creative marketing is often the difference when in search of solid exposure for your music and this depth of thought shows great promise for the future.
With such a varied selection of original music, it's hard to categorize BR3NZ under any particular genre. Dancehall music has attracted a huge audience in recent times and it's clear this movement has inspired the young artist's writing, but there is an intelligence which enables BR3NZ to apply his skills to new sounds with comfort. We cant wait to hear what comes next from #IndyOfTheWeek No.13!
