#IndyOfTheWeek is The In A Box Project's way of celebrating independent music. We pick out indy artists that we love. Maybe because their music blows us away. It might just be because they're different. Either way, they will be worthy.
Music runs through Ginette Claudette's DNA. Following in her mother's footsteps Claudette began performing at a young age in her native New York, writing songs and attending auditions after school. Attracting the ears of several labels with her soulful YouTube covers, in 2010 Claudette signed to Motown Records, before reclaiming her independence just a few years later.
Both True and Twisted are meaningful r&b songs with deep rooted emotion, silky instrumentation and crisp beats. Claudette's songwriting comes from the heart, with a second studio album set for release later this year. To write and release two albums as an independent artist is no mean feat, requiring incredible work ethic, high levels of productivity and a committed team. Claudette's example stands as an inspiration to others following in her footsteps.
